Organised under the PR Avenue of the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, the Rotaract Premier League (RPL) 2026 was successfully held on the 3rd of May 2026 at the University of Colombo Grounds. Bringing together Rotaractors and students through the spirit of softball cricket, the event became a memorable celebration of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fellowship.
Although the project was organised within a short period of time, the dedication and hard work of the organising committee, Board of Directors, EXCO members, and fellow Rotaractors helped transform RPL 2026 into a successful and well-coordinated tournament. Being part of the organising process itself became an unforgettable experience filled with teamwork, challenges, and fun memories.
Before the tournament day arrived, the organising team was busy with sponsorship hunting, planning matches, coordinating teams, and handling event logistics. Despite the hectic schedules, the process brought everyone closer together. Special appreciation goes to all the sponsors and supporters who believed in the project and contributed towards making the event possible.
The previous day’s heavy rain created one of the biggest challenges for the organising team. The grounds were muddy and waterlogged, and setting up tents became no easy task. However, the team worked together to clear water, prepare the venue, and make sure everything was ready on time. What initially seemed stressful soon turned into moments of laughter, teamwork, and memories that the organising committee will always remember.
A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament, creating an energetic and highly competitive atmosphere throughout the day. The matches were filled with excitement, cheering crowds, and outstanding performances that kept the energy alive from start to finish.
The semi-finalists of RPL 2026 were:
- Thunder Boltz
- Colombo Capitals
- Rapid Runners
- All Stars
Among the participating teams, All Stars became the crowd’s favourite team for their energetic presence and entertaining performances on the field.
Apart from being part of the organising committee, playing alongside the Rapid Runners team made the experience even more special. Competing in a tournament that we had helped organise added a different kind of excitement to the day and made every match even more memorable.
The grand finals featured an intense battle between Thunder Boltz and Colombo Capitals. After an exciting match, Thunder Boltz emerged as the champions of RPL 2026.

RPL 2026 was more than just a softball cricket tournament. It became a testament to dedication, teamwork, and community spirit. From overcoming muddy grounds to celebrating victories on the field, every moment contributed to an unforgettable experience for both participants and organisers alike.
