Seeharawa 2026 was not only a musical event, but it was a dreamy evening with songs, laughs, and a good cause to fulfill. In addition to the fairy lights and music, there was a cause that touched the hearts of all people who attended it. This musical event was organized as a fundraiser for Little Hearts Foundation, which helps small cardiac patients in Sri Lanka.
Seeharawa 2026 took place in the quadrangle of the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, with an audience of nearly 800 people. After the audition, 26 singers of the Faculty of Science were selected for the performance in the event. Other students of the Faculty of Science performed the musical instruments used in the event.
Despite the lack of time left following the university vacation for such a huge event organization, the Project Organizing Committee stayed energized and committed to the project from start to finish. Meetings on Mondays at 4.00 p.m., organized weekly, did not become just ordinary meetings about progress reports, but rather joyful meetings with long discussions that lasted all the way through till the evening. With the help of these meetings, relationships between the members of the organizing committee became even stronger despite the hard work, and this was one of the reasons why the event became such a great success.
Still, like any other major event, the path to Seeharawa was not smooth, and there were problems on the way. One of the most stressful situations occurred right before the start of the event when it suddenly started raining. While everyone silently prayed for the rain to stop, an hour passed, and it finally ceased. The cool breeze brought peace to the atmosphere, and with the help of fairy lights, the quadrangle looked magical. The rain that worried everyone unexpectedly became a gift for everyone.
The evening was made all the more special by the inclusion of guest artist Imesh Sandipa, who wowed with her excellent performance and added extra zest to the evening. The evening moved on, taking the concert from relaxing music in the glow of phone flashlights to energetic performances that made the whole audience engrossed in celebration.
Seeharawa 2026 was therefore not just about fundraising, but the evening saw hundreds of hearts coming together in support of a worthy cause. It created lasting memories of a lifetime.
It was indeed a night to remember.
