“A bucket list? Why would someone even need that?” you might question.
The human mind is a complex yet confusing aspect of all the creations of the universe. The perpetual debate in society whether heart or mind should overrule each other shadows over the simple moments of the present as well as the enigmatic dreams of the future hidden in the corners of everyone’s mind. In the expeditious hustle and bustle of life, having a bucket list can be one’s escape from reality yet give a purpose to the remainder of one’s life goals.
A bucket list greatly varies from one to another as it can be very personal depending on their passions interests and life goals. Sharing something personal can be both challenging and rewarding at the same time.
Sharing personal thoughts and aspirations requires being vulnerable and opening up about one’s feelings and experiences while exposing your inner self despite the fear of judgement. Yet the positive outcomes, along with the emotional impacts of validating your own dreams and desires, pursue personal growth and self-discovery.
Hence, envisioning a supportive and comforting environment towards fostering deeper connections with empathy and trust as well as cheering each other towards a promising future, the Editors team of the Rotaract Club of Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, brought light upon ‘Colours of Bliss’, the ultimate quest of chasing dreams.
The first week of Colours of Bliss unfurled with Rtr. Amashi Uthpala portraying the enigma of believing in yourself to overcome the emotions of fear and judgement and exploring the thrill and excitement of skydiving with To Fall Under Gravity, an adventure to the book of memories.
“As humans, we are the beings of the highest intellect, but it is indeed interesting to witness how many restrictions we put on ourselves, ultimately remaining stagnant or blending with the conventions when in reality we can be so much more than what we constrain ourselves to be.”
Next, Rtr. Vihanga Nawarathna presented us with the aide-memoire that a dream can be the sense of anticipation needed to create simple yet memorable moments of comfort that will become the echoes of lasting memories to be cherished throughout a lifetime. අයිස්ක්රීම් + වැස්ස embarked on the lasting impression of the taste of freedom prioritizing yourself against societal norms.

Methmi Minsadi festooned the sense of exploration to a whole new level with a range of exhilarating experiences of imagination while encouraging everyone to embrace the spontaneity of breaking away from the familiar constraints of exploring.
