Swirling and twirling Of countless darkness within me, ‘Help!' I reached out, staring at abyss as I waited. A sudden nudge, a presence, Shoulder to shoulder we sat there Speaking silence, Because you are the one who taught me comfortable silence In having a soulmate, And healed myself through every scar that painted across, Grounding myself, I looked at you, “Let go my dearest, I’m here”, you smiled... A choked sob wracks through, ‘Nobody noticed. I’m sure. But do I want to?’, An arm drapes around my shoulders As I recognize the warmth of father, A feather-like kiss to my forehead As I feel the earthly scent of mother, “We’ve known your heartbeat since before you were born, Let go sweetheart, We are here”, you nodded… A youngster loving the solitude That’s what people probably saw from outside, But I was conflicted in a mind maze, With words stuck in my throat with no way out. To that genuine stranger, With wrinkled skin and crinkling eyes radiating maturity, Sharing a bench with me On that fateful day, You shared a piece of your life In the form of a string of wise words To a complete stranger, But little did you know that you saved someone Who was losing the touch of reality. Specially when you said “Let go buddy, I’ll be here for you”, you said with resonance… So as the storm faded and angry clouds withered, I glanced up and saw for the first time, That stars haven’t lost it’s shine. And sensing the loving presences that still surround me “It feels good to let go”, Finally I laughed…
