New Year’s Eve can be the ideal time for us to look back primly at the road we walked for an entire year, to reminisce upon the spent time, old smiles, victorious milestones as well as on the days when we hit the rock bottom, not to mention the hardest days of all. Assuredly, it must have never been an easy journey. Just picture what a lot a year can do to our lives. Hence, let us all take a moment to open up our hearts and stir up memories of the past twelvemonth before the first light touches the ground tomorrow embracing the new year.
“What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you take to the new year.”
Life’s milestones are always on a knife edge. Whatever decision we make at the present, it is going to be crucial in deciding the future. Ours is indeed a tough game of either a YES or NO answer. Many people obviously talk and ponder a lot about such decisions of the past year that left them with regrets. They seem to forget the opposite side. Besides, it is human nature that we always do forget to appreciate the good but whine over the bad. Maybe because we celebrated happiness a little less than how we lamented over grief. All in all, maybe what we need right now to take to the new year is a little change in our frame of vision instead of a ‘happy new year’ because, in the end, it is all dependent on the mindset as happiness is obviously a choice; that is how we choose to see life after all.

Today on the 31st of December, when the night falls and the blinds are drawn, let us all let the anticipation of a better brighter tomorrow fill our hearts and occupy our souls for ecstasy finds its way to humans when their eyes shine with hope. For such blessed hearts from all over the world, despite how the spent year treated them; it is the time when new hope streams their lives. They forcefully forget the old and make up their minds to get their carts ready for another whole fresh journey around the sun. For them, a new year seems a fabulous time to renew and refresh their lives, to wipe off old worries of the previous year as they look forward to welcoming the new year, a whole fresh pack of hours and days for us to live for our dreams back again. Sounds exciting!

What we should keep in mind is that not a single change that we long for can occur overnight. Tomorrow when we rise from bed, it will be the same turmoil out there in the sophisticated world where life is like a cogwheel rotating incessantly. As a consequence, all of us humans will have to let the tides take us away from the sandy shores where life is much more comfortable and keep swimming to get back to the pleasant shore.
Thereby, at the end, when the clock strikes midnight 12 today, you can be either ‘new year, new me’, or ‘new year, same me’. What matters the most is that either the new or the old version of you should be happy and ready to boldly face the challenges the world throws at you. Let us all smile while we can and save our hearts, in the long run, to take the bullets yet to come; for when the chaos breaks through, we will still have the spirit to get it done. Thus, when tomorrow’s morning sun blesses you with a brand new year ahead, be sure to smile like a sunflower and whisper to your self “We got this!”.
