In the long winter nights
Amidst the foggy skies
You might see these glamorous lights
Taking you by surprise
Dazzling colors full of mystery
Blue, green and pink
Spread across the midnight sky
Won’t even let you blink
A painting done by the fairies
In their canvas which we call sky
Or proof of an alien species
Of which we have not yet come by
A sight to forget all our sorrows
May it be past, future or present
A moment to relax and calm ourselves
For these are the northern lights!
