As human children of mother nature, we all are born into this world with a mutual responsibility on our shoulders. By nature, we are divided by different lines and frames drawn around us. Still, is it not the same blood we share? Before confining us all within boundaries and stereotypes, aren’t we all humans over everything else? Thus, the call is for us all for a timely necessity; to evoke the human within us to serve the world, to pay back the debts to our own kind, to leave our mark on earth before we perish. That is what Rotaract is about.
The Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo has been a green meadow where buds of youth leadership blossom into pioneers in turning plans to actions throughout its past years since 2004. As both Rotaractors and Science undergraduates who dream high of creating a better world governed by humanity, we always commit ourselves and stand for service. Bearing this noblest intention in our hearts, we volunteer to strive towards the betterment of the community whilst developing ourselves with each little step we take.

Passing important milestones of our voyage, we have always climbed uphill with the most supportive hands of leadership behind us and the brightest of the street lamps along the way to guide us to our destinations. Continuing the legacy, for the Rotaract year 2022-23, the Board of Officials along with the Executive Committee was chosen such that we all form a great team together resembling the fact that some people are fate-picked when their intentions match.
The board consists of 35 amazing hearts beating to the same rhythm, the purest goals on the top of their minds. The immediate past president Rtr. Pramudi Rajamanthrie still keeps her light with us all.

With Rtr.Dihan Lakthila on the lead as the President for the year 2022-23, the executive board consists of Rtr. Udari de Silva as the Secretary, Rtr. Supun Samarasinghe, Rtr. Sulekha Fernando and Rtr. Timasha Weerakkody as the Vice Presidents.

Thereupon, the phrase “Our Promise for a Better Tomorrow” will be our motto for the new year in our maiden journey in guiding the compassionate hearts of passionate humans gathered around us. Let us all find our light to illuminate the dark corners of the weeping world around us. We guarantee it indeed! When all the light we hold within us gets together, turning the world’s misery into delight will be a lot easier than squeezing water from a stone. As the giants have left their mark along the trails of the previous year, we will gladly continue their legacy along the footprints and bloom over their shoulders to spread our sweetest fragrance out to the world.
Thus, since the noble baton of a relay towards a better world is now in our hands, we will all speed up towards the winning post and make victory ours, for the sake of all beating hearts and the whole world. Since we started with a great humanitarian of all times, we shall wrap it up here with the same wise words.
