Hard work beats talent if talent doesn’t work hard.
The month of July, in the year 2020 is one of the remarkable months in our Rotaract journey, as we were appointed as IT directors of RACFOSUOC for the executive term, 2020/21. As IT Directors, we have a major responsibility when contributing to uplift the promotional side of our club. So we appointed a team with 13 talented individuals to make our journey a success. In the beginning, our team members had a variety of their level of ability in content creation. Some had prior knowledge in content creating, while some people have the desire to learn everything from the beginning. So in order to build up all the team members’ skills to an optimum level, we had done a project called ‘Creative Fusion’, which had two phases. We covered the first steps of content creating within those two phases of our projects. Making content while adhering to the PR guidelines is not an easy task. But our team had never given up until the content was made to the relevant standard. All the team members gave their maximum contribution when they were assigned to a specific task
Rtr. Asala Bandara, a bit silent (but not much) guy, but not silent when it comes to working. When we ask volunteers to assign a particular task, he never steps back and always accepts the challenge. He showed his talents very well through projects GOT PINK, Installation, and Mistletoe magic by being an IT team member. He did a great job being in the POC of those projects and contributed a lot in making those projects a success. Kudos to taking the step forward and making amazing posts and videos using your creative ideas.
Rtr. Buwaneka Wickramasinghe, another talented soul in our team who has great creativity. He does his work with great enthusiasm and never misses a chance to amaze us with his creative ideas. He was the IT team member of the POCs of project Wise Advice and project Breathe. Being the only IT member of those two events at a stretch, he did a wonderful job by accepting it as a challenge.
Rtr. Charya Senanayake, a silent girl in our group, but never stops if she starts talking. When it comes to working, she never gets silent. She always tries to make very attractive posts every time and does all the changes we suggest from time to time. She was a POC member of GOT PINK and project Coast to Coast. She had given her contribution very well to those projects and provided a great output of those projects.
Rtr. Dimagi Nayanathara and Rtr. Sadushi Pathirana gave their contribution in creating content for international days and projects. Though they started work telling that they don’t know much about making marketing stuff they worked well on their assigned tasks. We appreciate your enthusiasm and courage in accepting challenges and not stepping back until the work is done.
Rtr. Dinal Meecle, who lives most of his life with a guitar, is another valuable addition to our team. When he joined our team, he knew very little about graphic designing and video editing. But he learned everything very well in a small period of time. Because of seeing messages late in the group, he missed the opportunity of making posts 2-3 times, as the other members have taken that chance. As he was worried about that, we specially reserved tasks for him for the next time. Though he’s new to graphic designing and video editing, he never let us feel that he’s a beginner. He did his job very well and never disappointed us.
Rtr. Malith Jayasinghe is another committed individual who always tries to do his work in a perfect manner. He’s a POC member of the project We Guide and project GOT PINK, which are the major projects that happened in this quarter.
Rtr. Manilka Dilshan and Rtr. Manishka Dhananjaya, are very patient and flexible members who can adapt to the situation accordingly. No matter how many times we ask them to make changes they will always do it. Both of them have given their support and contribution to the project GOT PINK and Rtr. Manishka is a POC member of the project We Guide. You both did a great job this quarter.
Rtr. Nayana Chathuranga is another wonderful individual in our team who has great ability in sketching logos and images. He has great potential for designing logos and making illustrations. He had given his contribution by designing posts for the project Enchanted Wilderness and the project GOT PINK.
Rtr. Ovin Amarasinghe is a person who has creative ideas when it comes to designing posts. He always tries to bring new designs when making posts. He was a POC member of the project GOT PINK and he also helped in making content for projects in International Services avenue.
Rtr. Thanuj Liyanage is a very responsive and active person throughout this quarter. He showed his skills in graphic designing, photography, and also in video editing. From designing POC posts to project content he did a wonderful job throughout the time. He did an amazing job in projects GOT PINK, Coast to Coast, and also by making videos for international days.
Rtr. Limini Fonseka, the only second-year representative and the senior member among other members is another great addition to our team. Despite having a busy academic schedule, she did her best to support us in every way she can. She had developed her skills very much by working with our team. Currently, she’s the project chair of Coast to Coast, which is done by the International Services avenue. She balanced her work very well and did a great job throughout the time.
As the IT directors, it’s a great pleasure for us to have a team like you all. We are very much fortunate to give our guide to such a talented bunch of individuals throughout this time. You all are the ones who made this team a huge success. Keep up the good spirit and do your work perfectly in the future as well.
“Unity is strength… When there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” (Mattie Stepanek)
