Can you recall your visit to a zoo? Have you ever thought the animal kingdom has the cutest animal? If not, here you will get to know the Giant Panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) with a blend of colours white and black. A panda is a mammal who give birth to their young and feeds their young on breast milk. However, these animals are listed as endangered species. Many companies use the name “panda” as the brand name and their photo as their business logo for their cuteness. Piano panda is a famous musical instrument company that uses a panda as its business logo.

Panda is a very playful animal lives in forests with bamboo trees. Their main food is bamboo. There are two types of pandas namely the giant Panda and Red Panda. Giant Panda has large, black patches around its eyes, over the ears, and across its round body which make them unique and can be distinguished by the red panda. Giant pandas are native to Southcentral China and can be found in the Himalayas also. The lifespan of Giant Pandas longs for 20 years in the wild. The mass of a normal adult female is 100kg and the height of an adult ranges from 60cm to 90cm. Although giant pandas have this much significance, they are born blind and furless. For few weeks cubs depend only on mothers.

Red panda (Ailurus fulgens) is characterized by its red colour. Their feet are fat, strong, and covered with fur. The fur of the red panda is thick, and this makes these red pandas look like cats. The average life span is of a red panda in wild is 8 years. The size of the body from head to tail is 20inches to 26inches. The length of the tail varies from 12inches to 20inches. The average weight of an adult red panda in the range of 5kg to 9kg. Red Pandas are native to the Eastern Himalayas and Southwestern China. These pandas are highly endangered as the estimated wild population is less than 10,000 matured individuals. The number of red pandas is declining rapidly due to habitat loss, cutting down of bamboo trees which is the main food source, poaching, and inbreeding depression.

It has been a current necessity of conserving these cute animals as their population is declining rapidly. China has launched many programs to conserve them in their habitats as well as out of their habitats. So, if you get a chance to visit China do not forget to visit these cuties gifted by mother nature.
