I closed my eyes – thoughts clouded with dust
As I counted my pulse,
Each breath a slight strain,
And opened them – the weather to trust
The lights shone down – feelings wonder-lost
A field of fireflies – scattered in the dimly lit ground
Unblinking, yet mesmerizing,
Of a new kind?
A lag in time was taken – to wrap my head around
And in a flash, realization – everything seemed so sound
And through the glassy sheet – that seperated the sky
The bluish hues mixing,
Where oceans becomes wisps,
The bay that seemed to stretch – ended so abruptly
The lights that filled a heart – dissolved so easily
I wished the windows opened – the clouds overhead, grey
The wind would’ve been nice,
An old friend to accompany,
But closing my eyes again – I let the voice in my head say
“Even flow,” – thoughts flew like butterflies that day
