The 23rd and 24th of January were golden days for the Rotaract club of Faculty of Science, University of Colombo because of the online radio that was conducted hand in hand with FOS media, the official media unit of the University.
With so much of hard work this project was initiated as a result of president Basura Perera’s idea. FOS media gave all the technical support and huge effort of Tharani and Malith were incredible who were the chief organizers of the project.
Many Rotaractors as well as non Rotaractors were working as a one team to make the project a success. All the preparation were done to bring a brand new radio taillor made for Rotaractors. This was the first time ever online radio done by a Rotaract club.
This was done in collaboration with “Rotasia” , an international conference of Rotaractors and Rotaract Clubs in South Asia. It is an international gathering of Rotaractors in the region to exchange information, enhance fellowship, build networks and concentrate ideas and efforts to work together for a common agenda of youths in general. ROTASIA 2016 is hosted by Sri Lanka this time and it takes place from 5th to 8th February.

There were programmes where the presidents of many Rotaract clubs talked about their club events and the success .They also made this an opportunity to let the listeners know about their upcoming projects and to invite them to participate.
Not only discussions and interviews , there were special line up s for the music as well. A request show was done and listeners were able to send their dedications and request the songs they loved to listen. A special program was done for bollywood music “Rotaractors gone to Bollywood” which gave a broad idea about the Bollywood music and the movies.
With lot of hard work , sacrifices and with help of every one Rotaractors of Faculty of science , university of Colombo were able to flourish their effort through this online radio, fm 3220.
