Flashes of anger, reigns of terror
Gripped by sorrow, streams of tears
The distance of the loved and dear
amidst sirens of pain and fear
Little did we expect
scars the year that passed
would leave behind
on the world and mankind by far…
Passed it may, still lives many
cracks to be patched, wounds to be healed.
As the dawn looks promising
dreams in mind, resolutions in hand
and hearts lit with hope, let us
ring out the old, ring in the new
here’s to
long life and treasure
with good health and pleasure!
