The Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, once again brought magic to life with Seeharawa 2025, a musical evening that touched hearts and raised funds for a noble cause. Held on May 29th at the Faculty of Science premises, the event blended nostalgia, creativity, and service into an unforgettable experience. Over 500 attendees, including students, faculty, and Rotaract members, gathered under the open sky, surrounded by twinkling lights and the soothing sounds of live music.

But Seeharawa was more than just a concert; it was a platform for hidden talents, giving undergraduates who might never have performed otherwise the chance to shine on stage. The event also offered a much-needed break from academic stress, allowing everyone to relax, reconnect with memories, and enjoy warm tea served in coconut shells, a small but thoughtful touch that made the night even more special. This year, Seeharawa had a bigger mission: supporting the Little Hearts Foundation, which is building a Cardiac and Critical Care Complex for children at Lady Ridgeway Hospital. Every ticket sold, sticker purchased, and donation made contributed to this cause, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

The evening featured a series of soulful performances by talented students from our very own faculty. With every note they sang, the atmosphere turned magical, transporting the audience into a dreamlike world. Seated comfortably on mats under the open sky, the crowd enjoyed a truly calming and heartwarming experience. Months of planning went into making Seeharawa a success. The Rotaract team organized creative fundraising stalls, like popcorn and juice sales, and secured sponsors like Yamaha Music Center. Handmade lanterns, fairy lights, and a rustic stage added to the event’s charm, while social media campaigns kept the excitement alive before, during, and after the concert.

The hard work paid off, as Seeharawa 2025 not only strengthened bonds among club members but also introduced new students to the spirit of Rotaract. Most importantly, it showed how music can heal, inspire, and bring people together for a greater cause. As the melodies faded into the night, Seeharawa left a lasting impression, reminding everyone of the power of community, creativity, and compassion. Here’s to more years of music, memories, and meaningful change.
