Sometimes it all feels too much Sometimes you feel too much Pathetic isn't it? You ask yourself You know you've seen this film before And that you didn't like the ending But a new chapter this is You thought So what if the sunset doesn't last forever? At least it'll make your life more colorful just by existing
So you decided to go out Watch the beautiful sunset And yes, it was amazing to stand there under the glistening light of the setting sun But were you ready for the darkness dusk was about to bring? Truly?
Yes! Of course! Cause you thought you were strong Everyone said you were So it must've been true
You may be able to stand through sand storms and cyclones But sometimes you just want someone who'd hold your hand through it and stand next to you
You like being the shoulder to cry on But sometimes you too wish that you had a shoulder to cry on But you can't let the world know that No, you can't
Why? Cause you're supposed to be strong And you've stayed strong through so many earthquakes Never falling down even if the shockwaves forced others down "You're breaking down over a petty sunset?" they'll say "You act all strong but you can't even handle a little pressure" they'll say They said
But only you know what you feel
How you feel
"I'm still here" the sun whispers to you
But you look at the horizon and see that it's drifting farther and farther away from you
And there's this immense sadness building inside of you
But you can't break
Can't let the others know that you aren't as strong as everyone thinks you are
"I don't care about what others think of me!" You tell others But deep down you know you do At least, just a little
And the sun may still be above the horizon But it's too far gone now You see that the sun isn't sad to leave you behind It has a whole other world below that line People that look up to the sun and adore it
But you decide to let it go You wanna scream and cry You don't know what to do So now the final question is, Was it worth it?
Yes. Yes it was. But the thing is, That doesn't change the fact that there's a darkness awaiting you. And no matter what you say, You know you're afraid of it. And if only, Just only The sun could stay up there forever Never setting So that you never have to feel that dread again Whose shadow you already feel Is lingering above you
