We find solace through all this strife In companions of many types Companionship, a simple word Describes a feeling when incurred Brings joy and happiness to all If luck prevails for great and small Flipping through the many pages Of a great book written for the ages Brings us out of self-made cages And fades away our stress in stages Providing just the right amount Of escape required for the count Is just the role a good book plays In times of wanting, paramount Books will never criticize Or hold your faults against you They offer hope at every turn And a different point of view Vibrant scenes of mortal combat Fictitious beings who act as comrades Banishes the fear and sorrow Which plagues us all as barricades Therefore when life has got you down Grab on to tomes that catch your eye Transport yourself to sites renown And brace yourselves for times gone by So open up a book today, And lose yourself within, For books are true companions, Accepting you as kin!
