In a lonely nest, For her and her mate, Only echoes of laughter still remain. A brand new nest far away, A beautiful painting, But she's outside the frame. A tenous link Through an electric window, To all her life's work and more. Her beauty lost, Her vitality drained, But not a drop of regret does remain.
