Heart-cart of “Wings of the Ocean” was the 3 rd phase of Project “Coast to Coast ” an initiative from the international service avenue of RACFOSUOC.

After the successful completion of Hopscotch the Globe – the Coast to Coast Phase 1 blog competition and the Phase 2 Pen Pal program, Rotractors were enthralled on discovering what’s next. That’s when the international service team decided on introducing the Heart-cart of Wings of the Ocean to bring back the essence of sharing and caring about one other and to bring a smile to someone’s face.

Witnessing the world situation and being confined to our homes for a long period, it was time to provoke the compassionate caring nature of our souls with love for each other. We were indeed delighted to see the contributions done by our very own fellow Rotractors on this behalf. Contributions were opened up and they started flowing in from all corners. Paper crafts, mesmerizing cross stitch patterns, wooden ornaments, and origami including various types of handicrafts were received.

Handwritten letters and graphic designs and artworks created depicting the Srilankan culture were deserved to be appreciated. Even a note or a phrase of sincere the thought was welcomed as our sole purpose was to flourish and lift the spirit to bring about a smile to the people out there.

Then the heart cart was the gift box that was prepared using all these lovely handicrafts and letters to be delivered to both elders and children to an Indian care home. After receiving all those heartiest contributions the Coast to Coast phase III: Wings of the Ocean successfully concluded on the 30th of April 2021.
